In the case of Edgar Poe's death, there were two theories of how he died. One was alcoholism and the other was rabies. I found that alcoholism had way more evidence and logic to it than rabies did. I'm going to be talking about how he died and reasons why it's true.
In Kenneth Silvermans biography about Edgar Poe, He says that E.P. had a drinking problem at an early age. When E.P was first discovered, he was found outside of a bar half conscious not knowing where he was. Kenneth writes that the weather was cold and rainy and that E.P. had a fever at the time. When Joseph Walker brought him to the hospital, they said he was acting delirious and talking constantly to anonymous objects. Four days later he dies.
Dr.R.Michael claims that E.P. has died from rabies. His theory must have came from the symptoms E.P had at the hospital, how he was pale, sweating, and talking constantly. That could have been from the fever he had at the bar. And Michael say that the cat could have bitten him and E.P. did not remember. Studies show that the cat was rabies free. Then the hallucinations, it says that that symptom was from Ceberal Inflammation.
In conclusion, it is quite obvious that Edgar Poe died from an alcohol infection. There is no accurate evidence that Edgar died of a rabies infection. All facts go towards alcohol infection.
